Vertical-Type Shot Blasting Machine for Beam Processing Vertical 0,8х1,6-6 MD
Designed for continuous high-performance abrasive cleaning of metal beams, I-beams, channels, structural profiles, and welded steel structures from mill scale, rust, corrosion products, and process contaminants.
The vertical positioning of the workpieces and the specially designed arrangement of the blast wheels ensure intensive and uniform cleaning of the main surfaces, webs, flanges, and hard-to-reach areas of profiled workpieces.
Main advantages and functions:
- Vertical processing: Workpieces are conveyed through the blasting chamber in a vertical position, ensuring efficient treatment of beams and structural profiles.
- Uniform cleaning: The arrangement of the blast wheels allows simultaneous treatment of different sides of the workpiece, including webs, flanges, and internal profile areas.
- High productivity: The continuous pass-through design provides uninterrupted processing of workpieces and allows the machine to be integrated into a production line.
- Adjustable blasting intensity: Blast wheel operating parameters and workpiece conveying speed can be adjusted depending on the profile type, degree of contamination, and required surface quality.
- Processing of complex profiles: The direction of the abrasive streams ensures effective removal of mill scale and corrosion from I-beams, channels, and other structural profiles.
- Surface strengthening: Steel shot impact contributes to the formation of residual compressive stresses in the surface layer of the metal, increasing the service life and durability of the workpieces.
- Preparation for painting: After shot blasting, the surface obtains the required cleanliness and roughness for subsequent application of paint and protective coatings.
- Efficient abrasive consumption: The shot collection, cleaning, and recovery system allows the abrasive to be reused multiple times in a closed process cycle.
- Environmental protection and safety: The aspiration and dust filtration system removes dust generated during blasting and prevents its spread within the production area.
Processing sequence:
- Loading: The beam or structural profile is placed in the working position and fed onto the machine conveying system.
- Feeding into the blasting chamber: The conveying system moves the workpiece through the entrance portal into the shot blasting zone.
- Shot blasting: The blast wheels direct high-velocity streams of steel shot onto the workpiece surface, removing mill scale, rust, and other contaminants.
- Comprehensive profile cleaning: Due to the arrangement of the blast wheels, the abrasive stream acts on different sides of the beam, including the web, flanges, edges, and internal areas of the profile.
- Process adjustment: The operator adjusts the workpiece conveying speed and blast wheel operating parameters depending on the workpiece dimensions, initial surface condition, and required cleanliness grade.
- Abrasive recirculation: Used steel shot is collected in the lower part of the machine and transported by the recovery system to the bucket elevator.
- Shot cleaning and return: The bucket elevator feeds the abrasive mixture into the separator, where reusable shot is separated from dust, scale, and broken abrasive particles before being returned to the blasting system.
- Unloading: After passing through the blasting chamber, the cleaned workpiece exits the machine and is transferred for further processing, painting, or to the next production stage.
Processing of beams and structural profiles:
The Vertical 0.8×2.2-8MD machine is specifically designed for processing workpieces with complex cross-sectional geometry. The vertical position of the workpiece and optimized distribution of the abrasive streams provide uniform cleaning of beams and structural profiles, including areas that are difficult to process using conventional workpiece positioning.
- Ensures uniform treatment of I-beam webs and flanges.
- Effectively cleans edges, corners, and internal areas of structural profiles.
- Allows the blasting intensity to be adjusted according to the dimensions and configuration of the workpiece.
- Allows adjustment of the workpiece conveying speed through the blasting chamber.
- Ensures stable surface quality over the entire height and length of the workpiece.
Automation: The machine control system ensures coordinated operation of the conveying mechanism, blast wheels, abrasive recovery system, and dust extraction system, maintaining stable process parameters and consistent cleaning quality.
