Continuous Shot Blasting Machines
Continuous shot blasting machines are designed for continuous, high-performance cleaning of metal products and workpieces from scale, rust, casting residues, dirt and other surface contaminants. The equipment is used for processing sheet and section steel, solid metal billets, I-beams, channels, angles and other profile products.
The standard design of continuous shot blasting machines includes a roller conveyor for transporting workpieces through the processing chamber. This design ensures stable and controlled movement of products and is suitable for processing workpieces of various lengths and weights. Depending on the technological requirements, CZPM also manufactures continuous shot blasting machines with a mesh conveyor. A mesh conveyor provides more uniform exposure of the abrasive to the product surface and can be particularly effective for processing small, flat or complex-shaped workpieces.
Operating Principle
The workpiece is placed on the conveyor system of the machine. After the equipment is started, the workpiece continuously moves through the shot blasting chamber at a preset speed. Inside the working zone, shot blasting turbines direct a high-velocity stream of metallic abrasive onto the surface of the workpiece at the required angle and intensity.
The shot blasting turbines are positioned perpendicular to the direction of movement. This allows the abrasive to continuously act on the surface while the workpiece passes through the processing zone. Several turbines can be installed on different sides of the chamber, allowing the top, side and other accessible surfaces of the workpiece to be treated in a single pass.
After treatment, the workpiece exits the chamber with the main surface contaminants removed. The used abrasive is collected by the abrasive recovery system, separated from dust and removed contaminants, and returned to the blasting cycle. This significantly reduces abrasive consumption and helps maintain stable cleaning performance.
Applications
Continuous shot blasting machines are used in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, metalworking, structural steel fabrication and other industries where continuous preparation and cleaning of metal surfaces is required.
- sheet metal and steel plate;
- I-beams and other structural profiles;
- channels, angles and section steel;
- solid metal billets;
- welded and assembled steel structures;
- long metal products;
- workpieces after hot working and rolling.
Advantages of CZPM Continuous Shot Blasting Machines
- Continuous processing — workpieces pass through the machine without interrupting the production process.
- High productivity — the equipment is designed for intensive industrial operation.
- Uniform cleaning — the arrangement of the shot blasting turbines provides effective abrasive impact on the workpiece surface.
- Different conveyor options — machines can be equipped with either roller or mesh conveyors.
- Closed-loop abrasive circulation — abrasive is collected, cleaned and returned to the blasting system for reuse.
- Process automation — key processing parameters can be adjusted according to the type and dimensions of the workpiece.
- Customized design — the machine configuration can be selected according to the dimensions, weight and specific characteristics of the products being processed.
The choice between a roller conveyor and a mesh conveyor depends on the characteristics of the products and the requirements of the technological process. Roller conveyors are well suited for heavy and large workpieces, while mesh conveyors can provide more convenient processing of small or flat products and improve abrasive access to individual areas of the surface.
CZPM designs and manufactures continuous shot blasting machines in various configurations. The equipment is selected according to the required production capacity, workpiece dimensions, required surface cleanliness and operating conditions.
